Electronic overcurrent protection prevents dips of the output voltage of switched mode power supplies both in the event of short circuit and overload. At the same time these devices provide selective protection or disconnection. Switching high capacitive loads and indicating a functional error is possible without any problems. Fault indication is by means of LEDs and auxiliary contacts. This helps with trouble-shooting and increases machine run times.
Electronic Circuit Breakers | ESS Serie
Meeting the requirements of international standards is imperative in DC 24 V applications for centralised and decentralised control voltages.
All electronic circuit breakers from E-T-A’s ESS serie have a fully-fledged integral bimetal sub-assembly or a relay. In the event of a failure this offers genuine physical isolation of the contacts.
In the event of an overcurrent, the load circuit is firstelectronically disconnected. A few seconds later, the integral mechanical isolating element also disconnects, thus ensuring physical isolation.
Electronic Circuit Protectors
E-T-A’s ESX10 portfolio of electronic circuit protectors has an electronic trip characteristic to ensure optimum protection in the event of a failure.
The trip curve of the ESX10 devices also includes an active current limitation. It provides limitation of the fault current to a firmly defined value.
